In early 2008 the Volvo MD17D with MS2 Gearbox...had a total rebuild, including bottom end shells, rings, new injectors, alternator, liner seals, head gaskets, raw water pump, seals etc, etc.
At the same time, new engine beds were bonded in, sound proofing, bilge-pump piping installed and new wiring etc, etc... I replaced the gland tube, P bracket and cutlass bearing, 30mm prop shaft. I also fitted a new R&D flexi coupling and a R&D shaft coupling, control cables, vetus raw water filter, inlet secock, inspection lighting and also added a new brass gland greaser. I've also fitted a calorifier with accumulator tank in the engine bay, and moved the expansion tank position so as to eradicate air locks.
